History of the Icelandic Puffin

The Icelandic Puffin dominated the island before the first settlers arrived around 800 AD. But from then on the history of the Icelandic people has also been the history of the mighty Puffin. The Puffin was pagan, then introduced the Christian faith, the Puffin Saga was recited in monasteries and farmhouses during the medieval period and it as the Lutheran Puffin that reformed the land in 16th Century. From then on the Puffin has contributed significantly to all aspects of Icelandic society and is to day fiercely independent, democratic and believer in the values of the Icelandic Republic.
